Nancy Ma and her work experience

Nancy Ma has diverse experience in marketing communications. She has over 25 years’ work experience in this field together with an education in business administration, personnel management, mass-communication and design management.

Nancy was the General Manager for an advertising agency before setting up her own advertising and marketing business in Hong Kong in 1979. She has extensive experience in managing various kinds of marketing and promotional campaigns.

Migrated to Australia in 1985, She worked for the Multicultural Department of St George College of TAFE before joining Uncle Pete’s Toys as an Office Manager. She then went on to work for Dainford DLF Property Group as New South Wales State Manager. Nancy and her husband Alex Ma set up 1A Communication – one of the best multicultural marketing companies in Australia in 1991 and announced their retirement from business in a press conference on 27 June 2007.

Nancy is also a copywriter and author. She was appointed to write a 100-page book to commemorate Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997 in Australia.

Nancy has a great reputation in the advertising industry and has deep relationships with the media and community. She has been appointed Trustee of the Australian Nursing Home Foundation, and has been invited on the judging panel for National Multicultural Awards in Australia in 2002 and 2003. She also was appointed by the NSW government as one of the 13 members on the NSCCH Area Health Advisory Council. In 2007, she received the award from the Minister for Women to commend her contribution to the community in Media and Communication, as well as Public Relations and Mass Communication. She has been appointed as Chairperson of Chinese-Australian Outstanding Women's Network at the NSW Parliament House. She was a member of the Chinese Australian Historical Society and Chinese Heritage Association of Australia.

Nancy actively participated in many charities and social events, helping organisations which include: Australian Chinese Community Association, Australian Chinese Charity Foundations, Australian Chinese Forum, Way In Network, Lions Club (Pacific and NSW Parliamentary), China Vision, Can Revive, Australian Brain Foundation, The Society of Performing Arts, Australian Nursing Home Foundation and many others.
